My work is an attempt to draw links between our everyday experiences, and the social, political and cultural forces that shape our lives. I believe that each is essential to the understanding of the other. I am interested in who makes work, how, why, for whom, and why that matters. I explore collective processes, and their value for individual and collective growth and change. I am interested in what happens when we make work together; ways of achieving things that none of us could alone. Art making is a form of collective dreaming, if we let it.

Developed with long-term collaborator Geo Barcan, song for the cosmos explores the socio-ecological context of the UK’s first vertical launch spaceport, on the island of Unst, Shetland. The work is made in collaboration with residents of Unst, representing life during a period of profound change, precipitated by a new global drive to exploit Earth’s low orbit. Whilst daily life is impacted, the spaceport in its situatedness also reframes our relationship with cosmology and ecology.
The finished work is imagined as a single channel film and five channel installation. A work in progress will screen at V2, Rotterdam, in February 2026 and then at Prospects, Rotterdam, in March 2026.
