The Midnight Run

I was honoured to be invited by Inua Ellams to be a travelling artist on the Midnight Run. This honour was felt not once, but twice!

The first journey we took together was part of a typical Midnight Run (it feels weird to call them 'typical' - I get the impression none are the same, and what could be typical about travelling across a city overnight with a group of strangers?)

I've written about that experience elsewhere, so I won't say much more here. I did, however, want to post the video I made during a second trip. It wasn't a typical Midnight Run in that it ended at midnight, and most of the participants were at least three times my age. They were also three times as talkative, and more fun than I could ever hope to be. I don't want to write too much, because I think they speak for themselves in the little video I made, but I did want to post it up. Enough to say that it was a privilege to meet everyone who was there, and I hope a short video communicates some of our experience.
