you kinda had to be there

I was asked to document a meeting of arts thinkers - an unusual but interesting commission. I often feel that these kinds of meetings come to future-altering conclusions, but are lost in the noise of policymaking and debate. The energy that comes from them can be powerful, but with the best will in the world is sometimes lost once everything has been set down on paper and everyone has gone home. I can’t fix this problem, but it’s an interesting one to contemplate. I used archive-quality film and techniques to document every measureable aspect of the meeting, so that it might be reconstructed by another culture at an unspecified future time.
